The trailer makes a big deal about removing the chance-to-hit stat, a staple of turn-based tactics games like this, though it's also missing in Warhammer 40000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters. The game is set in West Africa, where players must rescue a missing president while going up against a rogue paramilitary force known as "the Legion." There are plenty of customizable weapons and perks to experiment with, and it comes with online co-op support so you can tackle the campaign with friends. The sweary trailer gives off strong Wasteland 3 vibes, which is certainly a good thing.
Haemimont Games, the studio behind Tropico, describes Jagged Alliance 3 as having an open RPG structure. The original games were known for being hardcore turn-based tactics titles in the mold of XCOM. It's changed studios several times since then, finally landing with publisher Nordic Games, which became THQ Nordic. Jagged Alliance 3 was first announced way back in 2004 when Russian studio MiST Land South was supposed to develop the game. A new gameplay trailer has been released to show off what's in store. That's the date the eagerly anticipated Jagged Alliance 3 launches, marking almost 25 years since the last numbered game in the series arrived. Something to look forward to: Fans of turn-based tactics games should mark July 14 in their diaries.
